FDI- Fratelli D'Italia (Brothers of Italy)

Peter Paul Buhne & Tony Buono have been writing and composing songs since 1975. For many years now music has been their one true passion. Given the close brotherly bond that had formed between the two, they decided to call themselves “Fratelli D’Italia”

In 1995 they released their first album "Un Attimo In Paradiso", featuring the voice of Julian Mylor. The album was a compilation of their early work. Two years later they worked on a special project entitled "Merry Christmas from.... " A special CD designed as a gift, featuring the captivating voice of the late Shirley Thomas.

After the "Merry Christmas from..." CD, they launched their next album in 1999, which was some what gutsier, up beat and rather controversial. This one was given the title "Ditemi Voi" - which in English means "You tell me?" It painted the picture of the lengths one has to go through to become recognized, the ways of the world today and wanting to buy a ticket back to their youth.

In 2005 FDI released a new album entitled “Tornare Alle Radici”, in English “Returning to your roots”. This project was arranged and produced by Shane O’Farrell and FDI. The album featured “The Dickies” ex-member Lorenzo Buhne on some of the vocals.

Latest News

At last FDI has completed their latest project “Bosco Dell’Anima” (Woods of the soul). This project is in collaboration with the renowned Italian poet Cristiana Maria Sebastiani. What makes this particular project diverse and unique is the way in which FDI have been able to make poems come to life with music. Some of the finest musicians featured on this project include the ever so talented Tatyana Dunlop on piano and back up vocals, Shane O'Farrell on guitars, bass and back up vocals, Lee Hutchings on saxophone and flute, Evan Yako and Derek Barg on drums and percussions, to name a few.

Peter Paul Buhne is treking to Italy from May 2009 to launch the new album in the City of Perugia, alongside the poet Cristiana Maria Sebastiani.

In other news FDI music has been featured in the Australian Film "Two Fists, One Heart", produced by David Elfick (Rabbit Proof Fence, Newsfront, etc) and directed by Shawn Seet. The film is based on the true story of an Italo-Australian boxer Rai Faizo. Starring Australian actors Daniel Amalm and Jessica Marais, and well known Italian actor Ennio Fantastichini. The three FDI tracks featured are "E Cosi", "Anche Per Me" and "La Mia Citta`". The film has received great response here in Australia by the general public and the critics. The film is now being released internationally.

Also in the pipeline FDI is working on an instrumental project to be released in the not too distant future. This next project will be in conjunction with Michael Rossi of Groovy Music Publishing.
